Which Tally exports are supported?

Day Book, Ledger Voucher Register, Sales Register, Purchase Register, and Stock Summary in XML format. Both the legacy Tally.ERP 9 XML and TallyPrime XML formats parse correctly.

Does my Tally data leave my browser?

No. The file is parsed in JavaScript locally; nothing is uploaded. You can disconnect your network after the page loads and the converter will still work.

Does it handle inventory / stock items?

Yes. Stock Summary XML exports become one row per stock item with opening, inward, outward, closing, and value columns.

What about GST fields?

CGST, SGST, IGST amounts are extracted when present in the voucher XML. The party GSTIN and place-of-supply are included as separate columns.

Why is my file showing extra junk characters?

TallyPrime sometimes prepends BOM bytes or encodes Hindi narration in UTF-16. The converter handles both, but if you see garbled text, try opening the XML in a text editor, saving as UTF-8, and re-uploading.

What is the row limit?

No hard limit. Files with 50,000+ vouchers will work but may take several seconds to parse. Most monthly Day Book exports are well under this.

Why does Tally export so much XML?

Tally's XML schema is verbose by design (legacy data interchange format). The converter strips wrapper elements and keeps only voucher-level data you care about.

Why convert at all when FireAI connects directly?
